Eyelash extensions are a beauty enhancement technique where synthetic or natural fibers are individually glued to your natural lashes to augment their length, curliness, fullness, and thickness. These are not temporary solutions like self-stick strip falsies or individual lash clusters; they are semi-permanent and designed to be worn for an extended period.
Originating in Korea, this beauty service involves adhering single synthetic eyelashes to each natural lash using a medical-grade adhesive, ensuring they attach to the lash itself and not the skin. This method requires a high level of skill and precision, typically provided by certified lash technicians.
The key appeal of eyelash extensions lies in their ability to create a full, luscious, and long set of lashes that look natural and are so well-integrated that it's hard to tell they are extensions, even up close. Unlike temporary lash solutions, these extensions offer a lasting beauty enhancement, removing the need for mascara.
Customization is a significant feature of this service. You can choose the length, thickness, curl, and style of the extensions to match your unique preferences and style, ensuring a personalized look that complements your natural beauty. The result is a set of effortlessly elegant lashes that enhance your overall appearance without the daily need for mascara or other eye makeup.
A single natural eyelash is isolated and one synthetic lash (mink, silk, velvet) is applied with a medical grade adhesive to one of your own lash and glue never touch the skin.
The procedure will take approximately 1 - 1.5 hours for a full set and about 45 min - 60 min for a fill. It is a meticulous procedure that requires patience and concentration therefore it should not be rushed so that clients can leave with a perfect set of lashes. You relax with your eyes closed and there is no pain as this is a non-invasive procedure. Most clients are so relaxed they fall asleep.
We lose 3-5 eyelashes everyday like we lose our hairs. The extension seat on top of your natural lash until it shed naturally. Extension will lose when you shed a natural lash. So over time, the extensions will start to become sparser than when you first left our studio. On average our clients are coming in every 2-3 weeks for their fills. First timers may be in earlier due to adaptation to the extensions. The longer you wear the lash extensions, the more accustomed you are to maintaining them. There are many factors that will affect longevity of extensions, such as eyelash growth cycle, lifestyle and general after care. If you choose not to maintain the extensions with a fill please do not attempt to remove any lashes on your own, seek professional help from your lash technician or let it fall out naturally. Never pull out the extensions.
Absolutely, I cannot stress the importance of choosing an eyelash technician who has been taught by a qualified, experienced person and is fully certified. Make sure that you are dealing with a "Seasoned" technician who will take into consideration the health and safety of your natural lash. Please do your research thoroughly and ask many questions.
Not at all! The lash adhesive is formulated to create a solid bond, specifically for human lashes. The adhesive dries very soft on lashes, allowing the lashes to stay flexible and bouncy just like your own lashes. Any hair on our body shed according to their cycle. This is a natural process. A lash growth cycle is between 60-90 days and every follicle is on a separate cycle. So when one lash sheds, another baby lash is growing out of follicle. People who remove their eyelash extensions feel that their natural lashes look shorter and thinner. This is an optical illusion. They have become accustomed to the look of the extensions that made their eyelashes appear fuller, thicker and longer and therefore causing their natural lashes to look short and thin. Spring & Fall season we shed more.
A proper application is to apply one extension to single natural eyelash and glue should not touch the skin. When its applied to single natural lash then it does not interrupt adjacent lashes growth cycle and it will shed normally. If lashes are bunched together and multiple natural lashes are attached it pulls out natural lash which is not ready to come out. Another important part of a proper lash application is the weight of the extension in relation to your natural lash. As skilled lash artist will be sure to have a thorough consultation and choose the right lashes to suit your natural lashes and your desired look to suit your lifestyle. Lashes should feel like an extension of your own and you shouldn’t even feel like you have them on. If you feel any pulling, itchiness, pain then you must immediately consult with your lash artist.
Lash extensions are so easy to maintain and take care of. NEVER pick or pull and rub your lashes. NEVER use a mechanical curler on them. Picking, pulling or mechanically curling your eyelash extensions can cause breakage and premature falling from the root. Only use oil-free makeup remover and products around your eyes. Do not get them wet for the first few hours (your lash artist will give you a better idea of how long since different adhesives have different cure rates).
Yes, yes and yes. Glue cures completely in 48hours. Once the adhesive is cured there are no limitations to getting them wet. Just be mindful of being gentle when drying them, use cool air. Pat with Kleenex to absorb excess water -> dry with cool air fan -> brush with mascara wand to regain nice fluffy lashes.
Eyelash extensions can be worn indefinitely with proper care and maintenance. Fill-ins or touch ups are needed every 2-3 weeks. Each of our natural lashes has a life span of 60-90 days and each of our natural lashes is at a different point of its growth cycle. Each client's lash retention make huge difference depends on their lifestyle, skin type, rate of lash growth cycle and aftercare.
If for any reason you must have your lash extensions removed, make sure to go to a professional. We have specially formulated debonding agents that dissolve the adhesive and will not damage your natural lashes. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE ON YOUR OWN. If you attempt to remove on your own then you are risking the health of your natural lashes.
